Remember the OG barreled Bulgarian '74 kits?
I remember them vividly. My first kit that sunk the hook and got me here. RIP Todd at ORF.

Wood stocked Bulgarians rock. Beautiful build.

    What does "OG" mean?
Rights are inherent. They do not come from another's wallet.

OK. I just always called them original barrel kits. I never heard them described as OG before, but now I know. Thanks.

OG stands for "original gangster". It's millennial speak and a reference to 80s hip hop culture.

As a millennial I use the term pretty often but I guess you gotta be in the know.

Thanks for the additional detail. I knew there had to be some logic to it. Do you know what this is?

The first time my Millennial nephew saw one was when he was in high school. He thought it was so cool.

I'm 49, so I guess I'm considered Generation X. I remember one day in a high school English class. My teacher was on a rant about how the hippie generation was great and Generation X (all of the students she was talking to) were selfish. I responded back to her by going on and on about how hippies were stupid, they screwed up things after the WWII generation, Generation X sees their stupid ways and laughs at them, etc. She just stood there with a shocked look on her face not believing what she was hearing. After a minute or so the kid behind me kicked my chair, so I stopped. I can still here her saying "You're so vile!" She didn't like me after that, but I did get an A in the class.

The "OG" term is older that the word millennial. I think the word you are looking for is "entitled".

All jokes aside, I remember watching a program on bank robberies in Los Angeles that happened in the mid 90's to mid 2000's. There was an older FBI agent discussing how that type of bank robbery was being carried out by street gangs, where the older members "OG's" would direct the younger ones to rob a bank as an initiation into the gang. I just thought it was funny to see a well dressed and spoken older FBI agent explain the term "Original Gangsta"

Not sure what exactly you are trying to say. I was not implying millennials created the word. I was saying it seems to have been picked up in usage for anything referred to as "original". Maybe I am wrong.

Either way, sounded like it was probably somewhat of a jab. Entitled people plague every generation and humans suck in general, but whatever you gotta tell yourself. People grow and mature unless they are politicians. I think Bret's anecdote covers it pretty well.

The Lost Generation complained about the Greatest Generation. Isn't there a Socrates quote along those lines too?

Oh and Bret, my daily driver has roll up windows and I own two 60s classic cars that I restored, so yes. The Scat Pack Challenger I own does have automatic windows though. But all of my cars are stick shifts.

Anyways, we are off topic. I am going to post some pics of my TRA builds on here tonight to get things back on track!

Alright guys, I cant take it anymore:P Sending you my project!! Kit started life as a Unissued Bulgy 74 with a missing Front sight block. The Devil on my shoulder with help from the goons here on the forum convinced me to do a side folder:/, so I went full retard and snagged up the parts necessary to turn it into an AKS74, complete with a receiver from ReCreator. Barrel Population has issues with being straight, specifically with the Rear Sight Block "New one Included" but I don't think it's anything you can't handle there

OG meant Original Gangster yes, but it has been used to describe things as "original" for a long time (decades). I refer to anything original as OG, but I am from California lol. I'm also a millenial if you believe in that shit. Theres such a huge difference in 80's babies and 90's. It is kinda ridiculous to deem us the same; we are not. I like freedom, muscle cars, and AK's. I hate socialism, bus passes, and trannies.

I still have a handful of OG AK74 and 74S kits from ORF.

Met up with Tod Grove a few times as he was closing shop and his health was failing.

M76 kits in crates and parts all over being sorted and matched up by serial # etc.
