my buddies chinese TT-33 needs help!

Postby matt85 » Sat Dec 31, 2011 6:20 pm

my friend recently purchased a chinese Tok and hes been having some problem with it. the gun in its current state is onley able to fire about 3-4 rounds out of a mag with a single pull of the trigger, the rest require multiple trys. neither me or my friend are master gunsmiths and dispite our best efforts we cant get this pistol to run correctly.

can any of you recomend a good gunsmith to check out his pistol?

thanks
-Matt

Toks are pretty simple creatures, what happens after the 3-4 rounds when it runs ok. Does the hammer fall without firing ?

Does it have enough lube? Is the weapon clean (especially the hammer pack)?

Sounds like the trigger is not tripping the sear or something is preventing it from tripping.

We could more than likely get it to run for you. Check out the pinned thread on the Iraqi Tariq in this section for an example of our work. If interested, send queries to info@tworiversarms.com. Steve

yes, at first i suspected hard primers cause the ammo he was running was surplus, but he bought some new production brass cased ammo and it still does the same. seems like something isnt lining up correctly, i suspect his hammer might not be hitting the firing pin correctly.

Two Rivers Arms, ill let my buddy know about you guys and see what hes wants to do.

thanks all

Re: my buddies chinese TT-33 needs help! (problem solved)

well we were sitting down with his pistol and mine comparing them to see if i could point out any major differences. we discovered the chinese firing pin was much shorter then the standard eastern block tokarev. so we decided to try something, i swapped his firing pin out with an eastern block firing pin i had layen around. good news, it seems to have solved the problem and the gun has been working fine since.

thanks all
