You're going to have to dick around with the ejector...those receivers are for the 5.45mm, not 7.62mm......

I have a 1977 Dated Russian barreled AKM trunnion and matching bolt, that sure would be a good start for a Khyber Pass rifle. But I think that the AKM receiver would be the best to build on. You would have to cut the rear for the side folder though.

The best known one is the AKMS carbine from the Tokoi book; There is a picture of that one, and another one in my photo section in the reference guide.

Here is a link Lumpy sent me,http://editorial.gettyimages.com/source/search/details_pop.aspx?iid=52959658&cdi=0

It would appear the side folding AKM may be a Russian limited production Rifle for the Uzbek Military.

Here's the text from the image,

KARA-SUU, UZBEKISTAN: Uzbek soldiers stand guard along the bridge leading to Kyrgyzstan across the Sharikh Khansai river in town of Kara-Suu, 21 May 2005. Security forces have been massively reinforced in Uzbekistan's restive border town of Kara-Suu following a large protest there on the previous day, an AFP correspondent standing just across the border, in the Kyrgyz part of the town, reported. Hey Johno, will ya give us some pics and a list of ingredients in case we want to whip one up too? There seems to be a fair amount of interest and so far it seems to start with a G-kit but after that nobodys been very clear yet.

No problem,Mine started out as a Romy G Kit on a Global receiver,Troy built the rifle using a Russian rolled edge sidefolder, the cryllic engraving and G2 FCG.I'll install a set of Russian Laminated AKM handguards and Shiny maroon Russian pistol grip with a tan Russian sling.I have'nt yet decided whether to use a US piston and slant brake or keep the originals and use a US mag floorplate and follower.-pics will be tomorrow

There really is no difference than the G kit with Russian wood, russian triangle side folder, and bakelite mag.

Well I guess I will have to get started on this project too. I have been collecting parts. My unribbed and unrolled triangle stock came in 2 days ago and on the same day my Russian laminated wood set showed up too. Do the Kiber Pass rifles he the 45 or 90 degree gas blocks?
