    Norinco SKS #00001

    Current Bid $1875.00

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own serial number 1 Norinco SKS. This rifle comes right out of CDNN's personal collection. Based on our location at the time, I'd estimate that we received this SKS 29 years ago. This is a new, unissued semi-auto 20" 7.62x39 with sling, oiler, and original manual in the box.

This SKS is, of course, an all numbers matching gun, with at least six different locations with the 00001 stamping. Absolutely new and never handled before we took these pictures. The full legal number is 25000001."

    Item # 644049183 on GB

CDNN is auctioning off some of their own collection. I thought some of the AKF members would want a look...

#1 from a certain arsenal from that particular year, I think. Cool, but nothing super outstanding to me.

I thought it was 25 million and one. It doesn't even come with a bayonet? Funnny how seral numbers affect prices people pay. I could see if it really was the first or last rifle made. Or maybe even one of the first hundred. But they made so many of these, every hundred or thousand one made could be #001 depending on the way you look at it. I just don't see it that way if there are any other numbers in front of it other than zero.

It's cool and all... but I'd rather have a bring-back, to be honest.

The lack of a bayonet really kills the appeal too.

Someone will still pay top dollar for it. Kind of false advertising actually. Its truly not the first rifle made, but in reading that description, they make it appear to be.

All these bidders are paying for is a so called cool serial number. This is millions and millions off from the first Chinese SKS made.

It's a matter of collectibility.....and it doesn't have much, really. My friend bought a possibly unfired Polytech Legend in April with the SN 00047. Very cool, and having a "47" serial numbered AK47 might bump the value to someone looking for that kind of thing, but otherwise it is worth what any other Legend in that condition is worth.
