SVDS pistol grip manufacture interest guage

Hey all. I have slowly been gathering all the parts needed to do a full SVDS ... well as much as can be , conversion. With that said, I finally have the correct pistol grip. It's great, but it feels like it could be beefier / stronger.

So, I have reached out to George of Ronin Grips to see if he could mold it out and make us some replicas that are stronger than the original. I know the Tigr/SVD market is a niche market and the SVDS is a niche within that, with less than 10 clones existing within the US as I understand it.

George told me the price point would be under $50 per, and he needs at least 10.

Let me know if anyone is interested. I think this would be a good way to get one critical piece of the back end to not be a problem to find to make other conversions happen.

The only issue I have with my SVDS grip is that it's really short, causing my pinky to sorta kinda hang off.

I guess I have bigger hands than Izhmash designed the grip for.

Can't say I have any fears in the factory grip breaking though.

I didn't know of the lynx grip adapter. Cool, but does not get to my purpose. Once I get mine finally built I want it to be as close to the original as possible, not adding adapters to change the look, though I will give kudos to the idea.

As to the fragility of the grip...you are probably right...it has lasted this long in Russian service. I am a planner and I know how hard it was to come by this piece...so if we can have a mold made of it for propagation I think of that as a win. I will still have the real grip mounted, and have one as a spare.

    To each their own though.
