Pictures are worth a thousand words. If you need help posting them, please don't hesitate to ask.

If it's a legit, legal bringback... it's pretty hard to nail down a number, but it goes up every year.

Well... if I remember correctly, there were some SVD bringbacks that were not considered legal by the ATF due to the safety sear aka third pin. Any documents associated with the SVD would bring a premium too.

About the pictures.. do you have them on your hard drive or are they on a file hosting server like photobucket ?

I would argue that any bring back without paperwork is not a legal import. Last conflict the ATF allowed a bring back was Vietnam. Last one the Military allowed was Grenada.

Having said that, the ATF doesn't seem to care about the stuff, provided it's non NFA.

I don't believe the safety sear setup.
There was a guy who managed to get a form 6 svd imported from Czech Republic. I have access to some svd in Hungary.

The way I understand is that if you can prove it was in the country for 5 years or more than it is considered a Czech or Hungarian firearm and not Russian.

I was informed that this was a bring back from Grenada in the 80s. Came from a private collection that is all I know

Wolmanreid had a Form 6 for an SVD in the same circumstances denied, if I'm remembering correctly.

Never underestimate the ability of the BATFE to do something different than what the law states.

I agree $15-$18K maybe more on Grunbroker, especially if you had paperwork for it.
