    Yugo RPK Question...

Good day all. I am considering purchasing a Yugo RPK but the seller tells me it is built on a Nodak NDS-5 receiver. Is this common and does it make a difference? I am aware that the only difference is the top cover locking pin holes. It appears to be built with a locking top cover and fixed bipod. Looks to be in good shape and the price is right . Your opinions please ..

Its a good receiver, and I've had no problems so far.

Mine is built on a Nodak NDS-9. Not sure what the difference is.

I think mine is a 9 as well, but I really don't remember.

The only difference between the Nds-9 and 5 is the locking pin hole. It should have been built on a 9 since it shouldn't have the locking pin. If the builder welded over the lock pin holes and did a good job it should be good to go.

Evidently OP's is built with a M70AB2 rear trunnion with the locking assembly in place.
Some RPK's did have the AB2 trunnion but of course no locking assembly and the receiver not drilled for it.

Yours is technically not 100% correct., but if it is OK for you and built well it is not all that big a deal if the price is right.
