I'm trying to finally get some time to mess with this stuff this weekend. I got a nice respirator in and I need to check to see if my airbrush is still functional. If so, I may get to it this afternoon provided it doesn't rain today.

With the airbrush thin it with some denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner from Sherman Williams. 50/50

The airbrush will make it a little rough textured, just rub the shit out of it with an oiled rag and it smooths out after baking it at 200 for 1 hrs

The rough texture will be good for my SA-93. I need to finish the barrel components and that should match the finish on that. I have plenty of sanding and abrasives I can use to match the Russian finish if needed. I happen to have a jug of denatured alcohol already, so looks like I should be good to go.

im really really happy w/ the way this turned out. chris got me dialed in on the gun settings. so thanks to you guys who helped test out all that kind of stuff. it owuld have taken me a long time to figure out if i did...
gun has some oil on it but mostly wiped off. i like to douse them right out of the oven to get it all the nooks and crannys.
    anyways im stoked on it.

If you excuse me, I shall be screaming so loud that the atmosphere will explode. You did a wonderful job on the paint, BR!
