No it's the early 62° AK-74 gas block, not the same as AKM, not interchangeable.

It's an optical illusion, the end has had a bit of metal welded onto it and filed flush at the edge so it looks like an integral part of the barrel. It sticks out a bit, so from the angle of the shot it makes the hole look offset. See how there is no crown left on that barrel?

I don't see a weld, I see where the barrel was cut, and the metal was pushed to the center of bore and edge of barrel.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

It's almost impossible to see in the pics I posted. It has what is believed to be a blank firing device welded onto the muzzle end of it which greatly narrows the opening in the barrel front end.

Is the a Euro deactivated rifle chopped into a kit or an actual kit from a real rifle? If you don't want to answer that I totally understand. Just wondering if some new Russian kits are trickling in?

Here is an old-ish video of an original AK-74. We originally thought it was a late 76/early 77 Izhmash rifle, but the bolt carrier gives it away: Tula 100%

    Vlado,

Did you happen to get a front photo of the FSB?

Not much different than the Izhmash muzzle break (1983 Izhmash on bottom). The zig-zag angle cuts are more pronounced on the Tula break and the rear part of the collar is more elongated in appearance. You can see the obvious differences on the sight block itself between the two factories. I don't have an '80 izhmash to compare it to so this is the best its getting.

Is the rubber pad on the butt stock a Tula AK74 thing or does Izmash have those on certain years as well?

So who is going to be so nice as to put me in touch with a Tula 74? You know, so I can replicate the selector markings and all

If I was not on some government watch list, I'd be insulted.
