If an SLR-93 (with one tang) has the plastic stock removed and replaced with a (milled) wood buttstock what has the cutout for a second (lower) tang, will that second tang need to be installed?
Since the gun did OK with one tang before, would things change with the new wood stock?

yes you need the lower tang...for the strength and integrity of the stock. with the wood stock installed using just the upper tang, you can't push down on the rear of the butt, but try pulling up and you might just break the upper tang off.
the PG screw secured the thumbhole stock to prevent this.
