Yeah they go on no problem. The Romanian and East German wire folders fit on the standard stamped receiver trunion for fixed stocks. I had one on an SLR105 for a bit.

My buddy has one one on his SLR-105, but I think it is an East German vice a Romy. But other than finish, pretty much the same deal.

i'm embaressed to ask but what is the proper procedure to doing this correctly? ops: ops: any particular tools i should have before i begin?

dont have to do a thing to the rivets, unscrew the butt stock, slide it out, slide the side folder in, screw it on with the screws that came with the side folder, you are done.

one other question, how many US made parts are on the slr105? i know the butt stock is a nato length US part,so if i replace it with a romanian stock, will the rifle suddenly be illegal? will i also have to replace something else, like say,the muzzle brake? thats a nice piece. what are my options?

Yep, technically it will be illegal. You could swap out the gas piston for a US made one, but that would be a pain. I'd look for a US made follower or floorplate and put some on your range mags. That would be the easiest and cheapest route. A guy on the board here that goes by the name of grasshopper (might not be the exact way he spells it) sells them.

Get some mag followers, and mag base plates that are USA. They are sold here in the "marketplace" under AK accersories....

Anyway, that will give you two U.S. parts, so you will be good to go.

Just search for 5.45 mag followers in that forum if the thread isnt on the first page. I got some, and they are not too expensive, and work fine.

i just read your posts before i posted.......yea,that would be another route.i appreciate you reminding me of that option, although,i don't like to change original parts that deal a bit more specifically with reliability....only as a last resort.

The handguard set only counts as one part, not two.

Here is the rule for 922r. You cannot have more than 10 foreign parts.

    1. receiver
    2. trunnion (stamped receiver rifle only)
    3. barrel
    4. hammer
    5. disconnector
    6. trigger
    7. pistol grip
    8. handguard set
    9. buttstock
    10. muzzle device
    11. bolt
    12. bolt carrier
    13. gas piston
    14. magazine body
    15. magazine floorplate
    16. magazine follower

So, let's see if we have this straight, then, for the 105.

What does that mean, then, for the SLR-105? Can I swap the buttstock for a foreign part, or will the ATF come and put me in PMITA prison?
