Kalashnikov Magazines by Country(Reference Guide) NEW 2008

    March 2, 2008

My apologies for this thread going the way of the 'delete' button. It was a HUGE oops. I've been bummed for the last 6-9 months while its been 'down' as well.... Lets put it in the past and move forward with the new one.

    Exotic-Toys 2008

Please PM with any corrections/thoughts/or rare pics you have. I'll host them and post them here for you. This is just a starting point until the 'good' reference guide is complete. I'll probably add daily. I'll also be locking this. I just don't want to clutter this up with posts. These mags are all out of my personal collection unless noted. Please request permission before using them on another site.

I'll try to post unusual features in additional pictures if needed. If you notice I'm missing an important feature please PM me.

I beg to differ. There's a fairly late production 20 rounder mag in front of me right now and it has a bold D stamped on the left side of the spine, in addition to the usual "02" stamp. My best guess is that the D stands for Desszant(descent, paratrooper) since it was designed for and issued with the AMD-65 paratrooper rifle. I had a bunch more of these, older and newer but i sold them to fund other hobbies so i can't check if all of them have it. I'll update you if/when i get my hands on more.

I also have a few hungarian tanker mags as they are called. 20rders, 1 has the 02 and the d stamp and the other has an M circled on it. So I think there may be a few different markings on the 20rd hungys

OK, I just picked up one each of the two mags you guys described for $30/pair.

Whats the going rate on these? No Im not wanting to sell them as Ive wanted some 20 round mags for a while now. Just wondering if their shooters or safe queens.

Hungarian Tankers can be had for $10 each at AIM. There is a bazillion of them out there and would be considered "shooters" for the most part. That is not to say to keep one or two pristine ones in reserve for any personal collection.

    Thanks Hoot!

Had I known, I would have snagged the 3pak and scored a pouch in the deal.

Considering I enjoy the chase as much as the score I did OK.
