Current production/not unobtainium off the shelf I can find at the moment is Winchester PDX1 @ 120 grains.
But I, in good conscience, couldn't recommend Winchester ammo for anything other than the range.
Sadly, bullet options are limited if you don't reload.
If you do, I remember seeing somewhere (survivalistboards maybe?) a guy trying 85gr. .32 ACP bullets. Safer bet might be Tokarev projectiles.

    Trying All Kinds..

I bought 2 boxes of literally every single 7.62X39 boxed ammo, Ammo.com has so I'll see which brand shoots the best...

    Question Question...

Aside from the accuracy, how can you tell what box of ammo your rifle prefers over the others, if one or more box shoots exactly as the others do?

Then there's isn't a big difference between the ammo your rifle prefers.

    Why lightest ammo?

That sounds interesting and fun. Yugo M67 may be near the top of your list.

Methinks he might be trying to take the "rainbow" out of the rainbow round with more feet per second.

I'd take the rainbow over those numbers any day. I don't really see the big deal in drop when it comes to AKs.

I'm shooting two, 5 round groups at 100 yards from the bench in a Caldwell Fire Control Front Rest. The Sellier & Bellot had the widest group with an average of 3". The Fiocchi averaged around 2".

I will try the Golden Tiger 124 grain fmj bt, and the Hornady 123 grain sst next time.

I was also able to locate some Barnaul 123 grain fmj and am anxious to see what the results will be...

    Hmm...

Ok... at 100 yards, the Golden Tiger had the tighest group with an average of 1.5". The Hornady averaged around 2.5".
I got 2445 fps, 1659 ftlbs with the Golden Tiger 124 gr fmj bt... and 2350 fps, 1508 ftlbs. with the Hornady 123 grain sst.
