I have some of that ammo. Some was steel core and some was lead, pulled the bullets to see which headstamps were which and reseated the bullets back in the cases.
That was the standard AK ammo you would buy back in the late 1980's to early 1990's before Clinton cut it off. That was all there was to buy, pre-wolf (Russians were still the USSR). There was also CHEAP Chinese spam cans of 7.62x39 ammo, like $95.00 for 1100 rounds. They came two spam cans to a case. My buddy still has two cases from then he bought in high school. (1989) He calls it his "Red Dawn" stash.
