I did a search on yahoo for "chinese type 65 submachinegun" and found all kinds of pics and a few specs. The type 84 and 85 look interesting too.

Type 64 is pretty cool. It was developed during the time when the PLA was actively sending commandos and spies into Taiwan and smaller islands. There was a requirement for a suppressed bullet hose. The Chinese basically mated the Type 54 (PPS-43 pattern) with a milled Type 56 (AK-47 pattern) and came up with an integral silencer. Supposedly the Type 64 is quieter than its stamped receiver replacement the Type 85.

turbo, instead of weld/mill why not get a chunk of fortal and mill? Fortal is relatively cheap and machines like a dream when compared to 4130 or 4140. It is a blow back action so no real worries about hardness etc.

    Just a thought.

I am planning on a Type II for my son in 3/4 scale .22lr and an ar15 spo1 in 3/4 scale also fortal.
