Removing center support - what's the best way?

Hey guys, used the search function with no luck. Building a Tantal on a Childers receiver and would like to install one of these rails utilizing a new/supplied center support rivet.

    https://ak-builder.com/index.php?dis...oduct_id=30942

Before I start, just wanted get your guys opinion on the best way to remove the existing center support sleeve and rivet.

    Thanks in advance.

i ussually just drill them out just below the surface of the receiver.
sometimes a little farther if they are stubborn.
twist the center support w/ needle nose while spreading the receiver a by by hand.
keep in mind youve got the thickness of rails in there as well so the less you drill the more you will need to spread.
youll find you need to damn near drill the whole rivet out before it brakes free of the tube w/ a hammer and punch.
be easy to beat up the receiver trying to do it that way.

Start with a center drill. Especially if you don't have a mill. Then do what BR said. I use a hammer and a long punch to knock it out when I have the heads drilled through. You can always treat it like a long rivet if you want to attempt to save the sleeve.

Already got it out... nice and clean. Will update with pictures once I get the rail installed. Thanks to all.
