    Hi from NZ

    Hi,
I'm an AK collector and enthusiast in New Zealand. I have a couple of modified Saigas (AK103 & 104 style), Norinco 56S, AMD65 clone, Romanian clone and a Frankenstein build 9in barrel fun gun.
Always on the look out for more parts, Its very hard to find surplus parts here, I collect bits mostly at our small gun shows and sometimes manage to get some stuff via eBay etc
Next project is an RPK clone if I can find a good NHM91 and wood furniture.

Welcome, Pictures of your Military Style Semi Auto Rifles? I believe that is how they are described in New Zealand.
God Bless our troops, especially our Snipers!

Need any electricians up there in NZ? God....I've always been amazed at the pics of NZ and the beauty of the landscape and all.

No......it's not that I'm up early....or late for that matter. It's just that I never sleep.

Greetings New Zealander. I lived in Wellington for 2.5 years and damn near stayed there forever - so I consider myself a wee bit kiwi. Welcome aboard, mate.

    Kia ora, Mate, haere mai!

I took a secondement with Central Government and moved down to Wellington for a year quite a ways back and have returned for a couple short-term projects since then. I'm sort of surprised that you're able to own the weapons you have, I think the laws have a changed around a wee bit since I was there. Didn't National Police try to create some additional weapons restrictions a few years ago but the High Court ruled they lacked the authority? I may not be remembering that correctly. We'd all be curious to know what the current weapons limits and permitting requirements are.
LOOKING FOR: Postban Chicom (squareback) Rifle, '65 EG MPi-KM kit, Soviet and East German AKM Barrels, Soviet AKM U/F Stock Assembly, Polish Milled Receiver Front Stub

    Kia Ora, AZAK.

It probably hasn't changed all that much since you were here, we still have our standard firearms licence then various endorsements for restricted weapons.
I am permitted to own military style semi automatics, which means magazine capacity greater than 7 rounds, free standing pistol grip, bayonet lug etc.
My rifles are really only replica's, using Saiga's as base (apart from the 56S), we don't get parts kits here but sometimes you can find interesting furniture to dress up with.
ARs are very popular and plentiful here, but are a few of us who prefer only the AK!

I wasn't even aware AKs of any form were legal in NZ. I've seen NHM91 furniture on Ebay, couple days ago actually.

Do they place restrictions on pistol grip and magazine capacity and such? I'm just curious is all

I was in Wellington 02/03, when Clark was PM, just before the Nationals were voted in. Wasn't involved with firearms there - didn't know any Kiwis who were (beyond military training) and I was too busy for hobbies - so I never had a good grasp of what was permitted there and what wasn't.

Last time I was there doing work, big blow-up in the Herald over a "massive weapons cache" found up in King country. My comments about the whole lot not amounting to a half-assed individual collection back home didn't go over too well with my audience.
